We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Concrete Super Structures to lead a large, complex, concrete formwork high rise building project in Vancouver, BC. This leadership role reports into the VP, Concrete.

Role Overview

Reporting to the VP, Concrete, the Project Manager (Concrete Formwork) is responsible for ensuring the overall success of concrete projects under their management and the teams that have been assigned to these projects. We are looking for a leader. Someone who can take charge and motivate the project and site teams to achieve profitability, schedule and safety goals always acting with the clients’ best interests at heart.

Responsibilities/ Duties

  • Develop and implement project plan.
  • Ensure that overall project objectives are met by setting goals for each team member
  • Develop project line of communication.
    • Act as the direct liaison between project teams and  upper management
    • Communicate directly with other project team  leaders.
    • Ensure effective communication is maintained within the project team and with other stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement project processes and procedures.
  • Manage project budget and resources.
  • Troubleshoot routine problems and resolve issues.
  • Coach, mentor and develop team members. Ensure Pagnotta is creating growth opportunities that enable the achievement of both individual and corporate goals and objectives.
  • Maintain QA/QC documents.
  • Promotes and instills Pagnotta's mission, vision, and core values.
  • Manage and report project milestones through detailed plans and schedules to management and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure that work is conducted according to project specifications.
  • Monitor labour, equipment, and material.
  • Monitor change management process.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including clients and sub-trades
  • Act as primary liaison with clients, designers, site superintendents, subtrades.

  • Project management, including all elements of scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, resources, and communications.
  • Self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with everyone involved in the project.
  • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Able to make sound decisions when under pressure.
  • Able to organize, plan and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
  • Exhibits commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes making necessary recommendations to make improvements and meet/exceed internal and external expectations.

Working Conditions

  • Work on site is required. 50% in the Vancouver Branch Office 50% on site (split depends on project requirements). We are looking for people with a “boots on the ground mentality” who can work interchangeably with field and office staff.
  • Steel toe boots required.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle and/or transportation required.
  • Regular communication with project management staff, site personnel, clients, consultants, and vendors/subcontractors.
  • Business casual, professional attire (jeans allowed).

Education & Experience

  • Background or trade in construction related areas. e.g., construction management, engineering, journeyperson, etc.
  • 5+ years of project management experience specifically related to concrete formwork, high rise, mixed-use, commercial, or institutional construction
  • Five years of progressive experience managing the full scope of concrete formwork projects successfully managing and closing out projects profitably and/or managing self performed work.
  • CET or PMP designation considered an asset.
  • P. Eng designation considered an asset.
  • Trade certification considered an asset.
